    说英语的外国学生学汉语时,“都”字是一个难点。其所以难,一则是因为我们在给“都”释义的时候,往往用上all,于是他就把“都”与all之间划等号,二则是我们自己对“都”的理解并不是很周全的,即使学生按照我们给的例子造出句子来,也还会出错。这就是我们的问题了。比如我们可以说:“我们都知道这件事”。如果学生也作这样两句:“我们都送了花圈。”“这是我们都送的花圈。”这后一句便很成问题了。为什么?
现在我们就来比较一下“all"与“都”。首先要说明,这篇文章要讨论的“都”仅限于为大家所理解为“总括全部”的“都”,是可读轻声的,也可不读轻声,甚至重读的,不包括表示“甚至”或“已经”的“都”,如“连他都没考好”,“都十二点了,怎么还不睡?”这两个用法的“都”必读轻声。
I.形容词all有三个不同的用法:
A。表示全部,修饰不可数名词:
1.He ate all his food.
2.He ate it all.
3.All rubbish should be cleared out of cellars.
4.all the year round
5.sat up all night
  由此可见,在对外汉语教学中,进行两种语言的词语对比,可以使我们充分地、多方面地认识汉语和其他语言词汇系统和个别词的特点,能帮助我们部分地预知学生学习汉语词语可能出现的偏误,因此,重视两种词语的对比研究,把对比研究成果运用到教学中去是十分必要的。但是,过去我们的词语对比研究从语法角度研究得多,而从语义、语用方面研究得比较少,有些词类还没有进行对比研究。

   Thus, in foreign language teaching, to contrast the two languages ??of words can make us fully, multi-faceted understanding of Chinese and other languages ??the word vocabulary system and individual characteristics, can help to predict some of our students to learn Chinese words possible bias, therefore, comparative study of attention to two kinds of words, the use of comparative research to teaching is essential. However, the comparative study of the past our word study from the linguistic point of view much more from the semantic and pragmatic aspects of research than less, some parts of speech is not a comparative study.
